The information contained below is designed to provide a summary of the minimum education, experience, and examination requirements established by the Nevada Real Estate Appraisal Commission to obtain and maintain an appraisal license. The information provided below can be found on the Commission's website. However, we recommend you contact the Real Estate Appraisal Commission for more detailed information about the requirements for obtaining a real estate license.
 
Real Estate Appraiser State Requirements
- Successfully complete 75 hours of Board-approved courses covering the topics required by the Division in subjects related to real estate appraisal. This must include 15 hours of the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP) and 3 hours of Nevada appraisal law.
- Submit a completed application, fingerprint card, $100.00 application fee and $190.00 registration fee. There is no experience requirement for Trainee Appraisers and you must be affiliated with a licensed or certified appraiser.
   
- Successfully complete 90 hours of Board-approved courses covering the topics required by the AREAB in subjects related to real estate appraisal. This must include 15 hours of the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP) and 3 hours of Nevada appraisal law.
- Must meet experience requirements of a minimum of 2,400 hours in 2 years working as an appraiser or intern. Proof must be submitted on the Appraisal Experience Certification Log
  Pass the state examination.
- Submit a completed application, fingerprint card, $390.00 application fee and evidence of completion of required education.
   
- Successfully complete 120 hours of Board-approved courses covering the topics required by the AREAB in subjects related to real estate appraisal. This must include 15 hours of the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP) and 3 hours of Nevada appraisal law.
- Must meet experience requirements of a minimum of 2,500 hours of acceptable experience in 2 years working as an appraiser or intern.
- At least 500 hours must be complex property experience.
- Pass the state examination.
- Submit a completed application, fingerprint card, $390.00 application fee and evidence of completion of required education.
 
Certified General Appraiser
- Successfully complete 180 hours of Board-approved courses covering the topics required by the AREAB in subjects related to real estate appraisal. This must include 15 hours of the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP) and 3 hours of Nevada appraisal law.
- Must meet experience requirements of a minimum of 3,000 hours of acceptable experience in 3 years working as an appraiser or intern.
- At least 1000 hours must be commercial experience.
- Pass the state examination.
- Submit a completed application, fingerprint card, $490.00 application fee and evidence of completion of required education.
   
Continuing Education Requirements
  All Appraisal classification must show proof of completing 30 hours of approved continuing education each 2 year renewal period. At least 7 hours must be a USPAP update.
